Last week I had the privilege of watching the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles from the bleachers. I sat in awe.
The performances were outstanding and heat after heat – race after race – game after game – these athletes showed everyone how in the world of sport, two competitors can be kind TO each other – excited FOR each other – and respectful OF each other. Think about that.
The WORLD of Special Olympics came to LA in shades of different colors, different languages, and different ability levels, but when it was all over – these 7,000 athletes did what all Special Olympics athletes have the ability to do when given the chance. With each performance they changed how we see them – they changed how we treat them – and through these Games, they changed our world, forever.
