They don’t wear their title on their sleeves. They show up at different times and in different ways. They are told when they join that their personal commitment should be centered on one primary goal: Leave Special Olympics New Mexico better than you found it. THEY are Special Olympics New Mexico’s Board of Directors.
For the most part, nonprofit Board service has a lot to do with meetings, policy making, financial reporting, compliance, and governance. When board members are mission-driven and athlete-focused, the results of who they are live in the joy of friendship.
